I simply cannot wait for the next book in this series to be released!!! I was surprised by some of the characters added in this series. In this book, a bigger world is explored. Chilton excels at creating fantasy worlds that are interesting down to the littlest detail. That's what makes the Detention series work so well. Keeping with the ongoing theme of prejudice and not just color but job placement to, was a genius way to draw readers in. If you want a heroin that speaks to you, then pick this series to read.

This series just keeps getting better with each book. And it isn't just for teens, I'm in my late 50's and enjoying Carla & her world so much.
And I hope Carla's new friend/sidekick/protector/whatever-he-is Gobbert, continues in the series.
You gotta' love Carla. Yes, she is certainly a spit fire, but she has such good intentions. These books are great, even if you haven't read the others. You'll know what's going on, but I'm certain you'll want to read them all. I'm so looking forward to the next one! I was given a free copy for an honest review.

When a girl with superpowers takes a walk on the wild side - you know that she's going to get into big trouble.

The story zips along at a great pace as Carla tries to build a new life for herself in Zoola. She gets involved with the wrong kind of people and her life spins out of control.

The only one who can save Carla is herself and how she does it leads to a surprising and satisfying climax.
I like all the books. They are all one of a kind, each takes you to a new day and time, but you know where you left off. Some days it dose not pay to get out of bed. She is hurt, mixed up and leaves her home to walk on the wild side,to have an adventure and boy She dose and it is not all good. Superpowers on the brink, everyone trying to kille her. One of those you do not say what will happen next. Just about the time you think thing are settled down, a bus come down the road and hits ya. Lol Did not want to put the book down, cant wait to see what is next.
I really enjoyed this book, I've read both Detention and Legacy - and let me say that Shattered was so much more action packed. I loved how there was constantly something going on. Carla and Parklon just cannot stay out of trouble, regardless if they're in Derombi or Zoola!
This was such a fun read - I love how far the characters have grown over the last three books, as well as I love how much Claire has grown in a writer, you can feel her becoming more comfortable with her writing when it comes time to Shattered. I highly suggest this series!

Claire Chilton didn't hold out on anything in this book. Enjoy a wild ride through a new country, as the story unfolds for Carla. Parklon has a new job and Carla follows him to it after quitting her own. I'll call it, she decides to live like the phrase, "while in Rome," andBob goes on an unforgettable vacation. I found it hard to put down. Loved this. Twists abound.
