Home Sweet Home?
To heal the wounds left by a broken marriage and the death of her beloved stepson, Libby Kincaid returned to the ranch where she grew up. But instead of the solace she craved, she found Jess Barlowesexy, alluring and mad as hell.
For years Jess had been her constant opponent, and now malicious rumors tarnishing her reputation seemed only to enrage him further. But soon these adversarial sparks ignited into a fire of passion, and Jess wouldn't stop until he made her his bride. First of all, let me say that Linda Lael Miller is by far my favorite author. I never check her reviews before I purchase her books because I know I will love them. But this book...I don't understand parts of the story. For example, why was Libby's ex-husband brought into this story after their divorce? He wanted Libby to have a baby (his or even someone else's) so his grandmother wouldn't cut him out of her Will? What!!! And Stacey telling all those malicious lies about Libby and himself was just unbelievable to me. He should have known that Libby would deny the lies, so why wouldn't Stacey make up lies that didn't involve his close childhood friend? He would have to be unbalanced to say those things. Yet he was portrayed in the story as a successful, wealthy, handsome businessman. It didn't make sense to me. And why wouldn't Jess and Libby say "I love you" before they married and even for a while after they were married? That didn't make any sense to me. I wonder if Ms. Miller even wrote this book herself or if she had a ghost writer? It didn't seem like her writing style.Product details

Part of the Bargain edition by Linda Lael Miller Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I'd never been disappointed in Linda Lael Miller until now. This book had hardly any plot and the "sex" parts, while nice once in awhile, were WAY overdone. They were about all that the book contained. It gets really sickening and boring after awhile.
I love Linda Miller's books. I like the ones that have more of a family story with animals and not a book that is so filled with sex. Once or twice even three times is enough. I even started to skipping a lot of the book. I didn't even know she wrote books like this. I really enjoyed her cowboy series. That is how I got hooked in the first place.
It was fun watching the different relationships evolve and end happily. I must admit that too much of the book was taken up with love scenes that were almost exact copies of the one before it and the one before that. I know that this author can do better.
AS LONG AS i HAVE BEEN READING, i ALWAYS BUY HER BOOKS. SHE HAS SO MUCH INSIGHT INTO HER WRITINGS, AND YOU CAN ALWAYS SEEM TO SEE WHAT SHE IS WRITING ABOUT. SHE HAS SO MUCH DESCRIPTIVENESS AND
HUMOR TOO. JUST GIVE ME ONE OF HER BOOKS AND I'M GOOD UNTIL THE END. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
WHO LOVES ACTION, AND LOVE STORIES.

This is one you don't want to put down. Great dialog and proven examples of how how confusing emotions can twist things. Still a bunch of fun to enjoy on a Sunday.
This story was a GREAT disappointment. The story line was weak and the SEX was gratuitous! If Libby's nipples "perked up" one more time, I was going to throw up! A thread of the story would be lost and then the author would [almost]write "opps" and tie up the thread; example Aaron shows up all of a sudden and leaves, just as suddenly! I had to check the copyright date on this book to see what happened to Ms. Miller, who is usually a favorite of mine. Copyright was 1985 so I am happy to report that she has definitely improved from 15 years ago. But, the experience taught me not to buy "everything" by an author...... The bad news is the book is just plain awful.......the good news is Ms. Miller writes very well these days.......love scenes are tasteful and balanced with the story and her stories are strong. Whew! I feel better getting this off my chest........ AVOID BUYING THIS PARTICULAR BOOK; WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!
I'm used to very entertaining story lines from this author, who is right up at the top as one of my favorites. She usually writes stories that make me want to keep turning the pages. I did keep turning the pages on this one but ususally to skip several parts. Way too much physical descriptions (sex) and not enough story and character dialogue. I don't like books where the main hero is authoritative and dictatorial, as Jess is in this one. He's downright mean. I often read good books more than once, but it is not likely that I will read this one again.
